Measures are being taken to reduce the level of sound pollution by curtailing the use of air horns on buses and other vehicles, Minister of Passenger Transport Management, Mahinda Amaraweera said.
The Minister told Times Online that following several complaints made by the public, steps have been taken to instruct the Police to warn bus drivers and others regarding the usage of these horns.
An initial warning lasting one week is to be given to bus drivers following which within two weeks a programme will be carried out to remove these horns from buses.
