A businessman in Ududumbara has been arrested with Rs 5,000 conterfiet notes and is to be handed over to the Criminal Investigtions Department (CID) for further investigtions.
The 39-year old businessman was arrested by Ududumbara Police Chief Inspector D.W.Kanangara.
When the detection was made at the suspect's home, he had hidden some of the notes in a wall electric lamp.
The suspect has seven other outlets where pawning is carried on.
Investigations are continuing on the instructions of Teledeniya Senior DIG Jagath Saram.
