Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) and the Police today (Dec 20) have begun a joint operation to look into those who are selling rice at prices that are above the maximum retail price.
According to the Consumer Affairs Director General, the President had instructed the Police to assist in this crack down.
Retail and wholesale sellers were warned and from today a programme to crack down on those selling rice at higher prices will take place across the island.
