Sri Lanka’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials have informed airlines against re-using blankets on return flights and would commence inspections onboard aircraft.
CAA Director General H.M.C. Nimalsiri said they had been informed of airlines that have been re-using blankets onboard which were arlines that were to and from China.
In this respect, authorities in Colombo have informed these airlines to refrain from re-using blankets on return flights and to “bring two sets of blankets”.
Following this issue, the CAA officials would be carrying out random checks aboard aircraft to ensure the safety of passengers particularly on flights to and from China. (SD)
