Investigation into allegations that CDS Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne threatened the main witness in the case of abduction of 11 youths has been handed over to the Colombo Crime Division (CCD), OIC Chief Inspector Neville Silva informed the Fort Magistrate today.
This was announced when the case was taken up before the Fort Magistrates Court today (Dec 20).
Chief Police Inspector of the CID Neville Silva told Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake that he had accepted the case upon the instructions of the Senior Deputy DIG of the Western Province.
He had also said that a report would be submitted before courts in this regard.
The Magistrate while be issuing an order to hear the case from January 19 had also ordered the CID to be present along with the Fort Police before courts at the next hearing.
