Central Province governor Maithri Gunaratne has handed over his resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena today (Aug 8), informed sources told Times Online.
According to sources, Southern Province Governor Keerthi Tennakoon is also expected to handover his resignation to the President.
Further it is believed that the President had asked both governors to hand over their resignations and that they are likely to swap their provincial portfolios.
Earlier this week, Uva Central Governor Marshal Perera too had handed over his resignation to the President.
