The body of a 50-year old man has been found inside a burnt vehicle in a forest in Monaragala last night (Mar 21).
Police had discovered the body after they were informed of a double cab which was on fire in the area.
Attempts taken by the police to save the man, despite dousing the fire, had proved futile.
The deceased has been identified as Chandana Pushpakumara, a resident of Monaragala.
He had left his residence last evening and was reported to have been missing since then.
