A ceremonial court sitting will be held today (Apr 05) in order to felicitate Chief Justice Nalin Perera who will retire from his position on April 28.
CJ Perera who was sworn in on October 12 last year was involved in delivering verdicts which were historical significant.
During his short stint in office, Mr. Perera had also ruled that the Presidents Parliament dissolution gazette last year was unlawful.
He has had several years of experience in the judicial system after he entered the legal system as a lawyer and then become a Magistrate and a Justice before his appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
