The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has launched a investigation into an alleged tax fraud incident involving millions of unpaid tax revenue involving a recently concluded music concert, a senior official said.
Commissioner of CMC V.K.A.Anura told the Times Online since the council’s revenue officials are investigating the incident, the amount of tax revenue money allegedly defrauded from the concert has not been determined yet.
“ We are investigating the matter based on the initial reports submitted by our officials” he said.
The incident is alleged to have been committed on the income earned from the Latin Musical Idol Enrique Iglesias’s “Sex and Love Tour” live concert held last Sunday at the CR&FC grounds.
