Commonwealth Secretary-General to arrive in Sri Lanka today

Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Patricia Scotland will arrive in the island today on a four-day official visit.

This will be her first visit to the country since she assumed Office of the Secretary-General in April 2016.

The Secretary-General will call on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and meet Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana today and will then meet Ministers Malik Samarawickrama, Faiszer Musthapha, Sagala Ratnayake, Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Leader of the Opposition R Sampanthan tomorrow.
