The Colombo Magistrate's Court today (Jan 1) rejected the bail application filed by former State Pharmaceuticals Corporation Chairman Mohamed Rumy remanded over a controversial news briefing.
The request was rejected as it had not been taken up for consideration today.
Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered that the bail application would be taken up for consideration during the next hearing..
Rumy is accused of paying two individuals for appearing at a controversial news conference organised by Parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne during the run-up to the Presidential poll.
