The Fort Magistrate's court today (Jul 31) said that the ruling on the guardianship of the child belonging to Mohamed Zahran - the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday attacks, would be announced on August 21.
Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake, instructed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to submit a probation report to court, after the investigative body had sought a court order to hand over the four-year old child to a guardian.
Filing a motion before court, police said that the child is currently under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The CID, through a report informed court that nine suspects including the wife of Mohamed Zahran were under the custody of the CID.
Meanwhile, the CID also requested court to instruct the judicial medical officer to submit an autopsy report of Vihaga Thejantha, a waiter who is believed to have died in the explosions at the Shangri-La hotel on April 21.
Accordingly, Fort Magistrate Dissanayake issued instructions to this effect.
