Five deaths from COVID-19 were reported from Agalawatte, Maggona, Colombo 15, Maharagama and Wathupitiwala areas yesterday (18), the Government Information Department said.
The deceased aged 72, 86, 76, 50 and 86 suffered from COVID-related complications such as pneumonia, heart and kidney failure.
The deaths increased the total number of deaths from the virus to 165. Meanwhile 660 persons were tested positive for the virus on Friday bringing the total number of positive cases from the second wave to 32,380.
