A teachers' union has written to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to implement his promise of enrolling all successful G C E Advanced Level (A/L) students at state universities.
The Ceylon Teachers Services Union (CTSU), in its letter recalled that President Rajapaksa, in his presidential election manifesto had pledged to admit all students who pass the A/L exam to state universities.
Acordingly, the union pointed out that steps should be taken to allocate funds and implement a mechanism to enrol the students who had passed the 2019 A/L examination of which the results were released in late December.
The CTSU added that it would extend its fullest cooperation in this regard.
