A group of employees from the Central Cultural Fund's (CCF) Sigiriya Office held a protest yesterday (26) in front of the path leading up to the historic Sigiriya rock fortress.
The employees called on the Government to ensure that their 2019 bonuses are paid and for the new salary scheme for CCF employees be implemented from January.
They alleged that the CCF was facing a severe financial crisis owing to the misappropriation of CCF funds that occurred under former Cultural Affairs Minister and current Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
The protesters called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is the current Minister of Cultural Affairs, to intervene on the issue.
