A member of the Dambulla Urban Council has been arrested for attacking a person with a sword in Dambulla today (Aug 5).
According to the police, the incident had taken place at around 1:30 am due to a personal dispute.
The local authority member has been identified as 41-year old Anura Bandara.
The injured victim is currently receiving treatment at the Dambulla hospital, police said.
