A 22-year-old woman was killed and her mother sustained injuries after an unidentified gunman opened fire on them while at their house in Ganegama, Warakapola early this morning (14).
The victims had been inside their house when they were fired on by the assailant, who had then fled.
The daughter was killed on the spot while her mother was admitted to Warakapola Hospital for treatment. The assailant remains at large. Warakapola Police are investigating.
