The case filed against former DIG Nalaka de Silva was postponed till October 02 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's court today (Jun 26).
This was announced after considering a request made the lawyer appearing for the former DIG. He had sought a later date to hear the case since his client is facing a health ailment.
Silva has been accused of involvement in the alleged plot to assasinate the President and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
During today's hearing, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) told court that it has sought the advice of the Attorney General to determine whether charges could be filed against the accused under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
