The Nuwara Eliya Police has established a disinfection chamber for the use of all those coming to the station.
The disinfection chamber has been set up at the entrance to the station and is used by members of the public as well as police officers who come into the station.
The chamber has been set up to ensure the health and safety of both members of the public who come to the station as well as that of officers serving there, an officer from the station said.

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
