The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has called on the general public to observe two-minutes of silence tomorrow (Dec 26) as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives during the tragic Tsunami in 2004.
Assistant Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili said a special ceremony will be organised in the Paraliya area to pray that such an event should not occur in future.
Tomorrow marks the 14th year after the tragic 9.2 magnitude Tsunami claimed the lives of over 35,000 people in the country.
