The Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday ordered the Government Analyst to conduct a DNA test in order to verify the identity of the suicide bomber who carried out the attack at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo on Easter Sunday (21).
Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake made this order following a request made by CID. The CID informed court that they are expecting to call for a DNA report pertaining to body parts of the suicide bomber using his daughter’s blood samples.
The CID said the DNA tests were required to ascertain whether the body parts at Kingsbury Hotel were of the alleged suicide bomber Mohamad Azzam Mohamad Mubarak.
