Early warning text messaging system for fishermen launched
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (28) launched the text messaging system regarding weather conditions and early warnings for fishing communities at a ceremony held at Tangalle Fisheries Harbour.
The 24-hour warning system provides updates on the weather situation in the local areas of the fishermen and also sends out early warnings regarding severe weather.
