Election Commission to issue gazette on parliamentary election
The National Election Commission is to issue a gazette notification today detailing instructions to Returning Officers (ROs) on the conduct of the upcoming parliamentary election.
Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Rathnayake, stated that the gazette will detail matters such as dates for postal voting, how to go about handling objections to nominations and powers vested with the ROs during the nomination and campaign periods as well as during the election.
