Former Treasury Secretary P.B Jayasundara made statements before the Special High Court in the financial misappropriation case against former President's chief-of-staff Gamini Senarath and three others.
Mr. Jayasundara had appeared before court after summons were issued on him during the previous hearing of the case.
While providing the witness statement, Mr. Jayasundara admitted before court that he had served as the Treasury Secretary at the time of the financial fraud.
Meanwhile, IGP Pujith Jayasundara who was also issued summons to appear before court, was represented by another individual during today's hearing.
Former President's chief-of-staff Jayasundara who is an acused in the case will be questioned by the jury during the next hearing which has been adjourned until tomorrow.
The three-member judge bench of Justices Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne, and Champa Janaki Rajaratne also announced that further examination of witnesses statements will take place on May 14.
A misappropriation case has been filed by the Attorney General against Mr. Senarath, and three others under the Public Property Act for allegedly misappropriating Rs 500 million funds belonging to Litro Gas Lanka.
The two others include -Piyadasa Kudabalage - former Executive Director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) and Neil Bandara Hapuhinna - Director General of the Samurdhi Development Department.
They have been accused of committing the fraud between February 01, 2014 and January 20, 2015.
