A cache of explosives including eight claymore bombs have been recovered from a land plot in the Mullaitivu area, police said.
The explosives had been recovered after the land owner had informed the police regarding the matter.
Among the explosives were 50 detonators and wire chords, police added.
The Bomb Disposal Unit of the Special Task Force had defused the claymore bombs weighing 20 kilograms.
Security personnel suspect that these explosives had been hidden by the LTTE during the war.
