Facebook's vice-president of foreign policy solution has admitted that his company "made a mistake" in not removing a post which incited racial hatred in Sri Lanka.
Vice President Richard Allen responding to a question posed by Singaporean lawmaker Edwin Tong, had admitted that the post had breached Facebook's terms of service. He also admitted that it was a "high-priority content for us (Facebook) to remove.”
When questioned as to why the post was not removed, Mr. Allen responded saying that it was due to a “simple error" committed by a Facebook employee.
However, he later said that he is ashamed of the things which happened while adding that such event should not occur in future.
