The final vote on this year's budget will take place in Parliament this evening.
The Joint Opposition has already announced that it would vote against the budget while the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) parliamentarians are yet to announce their decision in this regard.
A special discussion was held yesterday between President Maithripala Sirisena, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa along with a group of SLFP parliamentarians to decide on the budget. However, the meeting ended in a stalemate.
Accordingly, the SLFPers will meet President Maithripala Sirisena today (Apr 05) to arrive at a final decision concerning the vote.
