A fire has erupted at the Kalametiya Smart Fishing Harbour which is currently under construction damaging more than 20 boats at the facility.
Efforts are currently underway to douse the fire which had erupted last night.
Meanwhile, a special team has been deployed to probe and determine whether the fire was an act of arson, State Fisheries Minister Dilip Wedaarachchi said.
The Smart Fishing Harbour is expected to hold a maximum of 150 boats at a time.
