A fire has erupted atop a mountain range in the Kalubovityana Forest in Neluwa, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.
The Air Force has deployed a Bell 12 helicopter to contain the fire from spreading towards the villages situated around the mountain.
Meanwhile, DMC officials suspect that the fire was an act of arson.
