The Fisheries Ministry has said it would repatriate five fishermen who had been rescued by Myanmar Navy personnel after being reported missing since last month.
Five fishermen aboard a multi-day fishing trawler had left Sri Lankan shores from Tangalle on August 19, but had failed to return after their vessel had capsized.
The Myanmar authorities having rescued the fishermen had then informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry of their whereabouts.
Accordingly, the Fisheries Ministry said that it would co-ordinate with the Foreign Ministry to bring back the fishermen in due course.
