Five arrested over violent incidents in Jaffna
Five suspects have been taken into custody in connection with several incidents of violence in Jaffna and Kopay. The arrested suspects are between the ages of 18 and 37. The suspects were taken into custody at Thausikulam in Jaffna last evening on information received by the Jaffna Police
Police have recovered four swords, two axes and a motorbike from their possession.
The suspects are thought to have taken part in several violent incidents which left people injured and caused damages to property.
In a separate incident, eight other youths who were allegedly involved in street fights in Jaffna were released on bail after being severely warned by Jaffna High Court Judge M. Illancherian.
