Five individuals including three foreigners who were nabbed with heroin worth over Rs 1 billion in Kollupitiya have been further remanded until June 26.
The order was issued when the suspects were produced before the Fort Magistrate's Court today (Jun 14).
The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) had apprehended the suspects at a shopping mall in Kollupitiya with 95.88 kilograms of heroin in January this year. The suspects included two locals, two US nationals, and an Afghan national.
During a court hearing, police told court that the US nationals had obtained the narcotic from an individual in Hong Kong. This person was a friend of a Sri Lankan suspect who is under custody over this case.
Police also told court that they were conducting investigations into the call records of the suspects, their residences, and their vehicles.
