Five suspects including three foreigners and two locals who were arrested over the possession of heroin worth over Rs 1000 million have been remanded until February 08.
The remand order was issued when the suspects who were apprehended over the possession of heroin weighing 90 kilograms were produced before court after seven days of detention by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
The suspects included an Afghan national, two US nationals, and two Sri Lankans.
They have been identified as Zakari Farhath (Afghan), Marshall Sean Anthony and Khawaja Jamis Ishan (US), U.D.I. Padkumara a resident of Hikkaduwa, and K.C.D. Aryasinghe a resident of Halloluwa.
