The Court of Appeal issued notice on respondents to the writ petition filed by General Sarath Fonseka referring to the restoration of his parliamentary seat, the court date has been set for March 9.
General Fonseka speaking to media outside said his rights were unfairly removed under a corrupt regime and that he was confident in the new regime to restore justice.
“We have faith in the Court system now. It does not have the influences and bearings it used to have in the past, so we have full confidence that justice will be done and that the hundreds of thousands who voted for me will not be let down,” he was quoted as saying.
