Former Sri Lankan president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has met Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina at her official residence, the Ganabhaban, Bangladeshi media reported.
According to bdnews24, Kumaratunga arrived Dhaka on May 21 on a four-day visit to attend a programme of London-based Global Leadership Foundation.
After the meeting on Wednesday, Press Secretary to the PM Ihsanul Karim said they discussed various matters relating to mutual interests and different aspects of their political parties.
PM Hasina, the daughter of Bangladesh's founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is the president of the ruling Awami League.
During the meeting, Hasina told Kumaratunga that people of all faiths are living peacefully in Bangladesh and that they take part in every festival together.
