Former president of Federation of University Teachers' Association (FUTA) former Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri was attacked yesterday by a group near the Lalith Athulathmudali Grounds, Kirulapone where political parties Supporting former president Mahinda Rajapaksa were having their May day rally. Dr. Dewasiri lodged a complaint to the police. He was later admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
