Former Sri Lankan district judge Geethani Wijesinghe Widanelage was sworn in today as Fiji's new Resident Magistrate by President Jioji Konrote, a statement said.
Magistrate Widanelage took her oath at the State House in the presence of Chief Justice Anthony Gates and Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili, the Fiji Times reported.
Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
