Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa took to Twitter yesterday to express his sadness at the passing of former minister A.H..M. Azwer.
He said in his post : Deeply saddened by the passing of Former Minister and my good friend A.H.M. Azwer. He always stood by me in good times and bad.

The final rites of late Former Minister A.H.M. Azwer will be held today (30th Aug.) at 3.p.m. at the Dehiwala Mosque.
