Four suspects have been take into custody over an accident in Bambalapitiya which left a police officer critically injured yesterday (Feb 24).
Suspects include the owner and the driver of a defender jeep who have been identified as 27-year olds by the names of R.A.V.Shri Wijesekara and R.M.N. Omesh Ratnayake respectively.
They were taken into custody after being produced before the Bambalapitiya police yesterday.
Meanwhile, two individuals who were travelling in a Prado Jeep along with the defender jeep at the time of the accident were also arrested after being produced before the Bambalapitiya police.
Police have identified the driver of the prado jeep as 28-year old D. Sudammika Artigalla and the other individual who was travelling in the vehicle as 23-year old K.Mathew Dennis.

All Ceylon Makkal Congress MP Ali Sabri Raheem had been arrested by Kalpitiya police after he surrendered to the police today morning.
