Four Indian fishermen have been arrested for engaging in poaching in Sri Lankan territorial waters West of Delft Island in the early hours today, Navy said. One of their fishing trawler used for poaching also seized.
The arrested fishermen were brought to the naval base in Kankesanthurai and subsequently handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director of Jaffna for legal action. The seized trawler and fishing gear were retained in Karainagar.
