Navy personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the Police Narcotic Bureau, a suspicious three-wheeler had been intercepted near Cod Bay fisheries harbour in Trincomalee and found 1720mg in it. The two persons in the three wheeler have been arrested.
In another incident, another two persons were arrested on the streets of China Bay in Trincomalee with 820 mg of heroin in possession.
The suspects have been been identified as residents of Trincomalee and China Bay, ranging from 26 to 60 years of age. The suspects and seized items were handed over to the Uppuweli and China Bay police stations for further investigations, police said.
