The contempt of court case against Bodu Bala Sena Secretary Ven.Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero is to be taken up again on August 5 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
In 2017, the Organized Crimes Investigation Division filed a case with regard to the alleged racial statements made by the thera against the Islamic religion in Polonnaruwa. Gnanasara Thera who was found guilty of the charge of contempt of court in this regard was produced before court today (Feb 25).
The Police informed court today that investigations regarding the case have been finalised and all reports have been submitted to the Attorney General.
Further the Police informed Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne, that they are yet to recieve any legal direction from the Attorney General as yet with regard to the case.
