Galle without water after fire damages purification plant

Water supply to the Galle Municipality area has been stopped temporarily due to a fire at the water purification plant in Wakwella, the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced. 

The fire has caused damage to vital electronic equipment at the plant. 

Efforts are underway to repair the damage and restart water supply within the day.
