Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) will launch a continuous strike from Wednesday Jul 5 onwards local media reported.
According to reports a media briefing was held in Colombo today and the association informed the media of the impending strike.
Despite President Sirisena’s attempts to solve the SAITM issue, little progress has been made and as such the GMOA had been forced to resort to continuous strike action.

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today that the suspect in the rape of a lady doctor at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital has been identified as an army deserter and he will be apprehended shortly.
