The government has decided to add Rs. 10000 to the basic salary of the public sector employees in three stages, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe made this observation making a special statement in Parliament, this afternoon. As the first stage, Rs.2000 will be added to the salary from January 2016.
The government will re-establish the National Salaries Commission to make a deep analysis into public sector salaries and salary anomalies, said the Prime Minister and added that it is expected to grant a period of 6 months for the Commission to submit a full report on public sector salaries.
