The government has decided to cut down gas prices after having taken into consideration the prices in the world market, MP Bandula Gunawardena said.
Addressing a press briefing, MP Gunawardena said that the government was also considering a deduction in tax levied on local traders, farmer's and various other sectors.
He explained that the deduction of these taxes will be implemented following discussions with the President and Prime Minister.

The price of Lanka Petrol 92 Octane has been reduced by Rs. 5, while the price of Lanka Super Diesel Star Euro 4 has been increased by Rs. 5, from midnight today, October 31, 2025, according to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
