The government has decided to put forth supplementary estimates on behalf of two ministries of which the expenditure heads were defeated recently.
This decision was made during yesterday's cabinet meeting when Minister Mangala Samaraweera had sought approval to do so in Parliament today.
A supplementary estimate of Rs 287 billion will be put forward for the Ministry of Home & Internal Affairs, Local Governments and Provincial Councils and the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development.
The Expenditure Heads of both ministries were defeated in Parliament on March 28.
