A group of 129 Sri Lankans who were stranded in Pakistan following the outbreak of COVID-19 were flown back to the country via a special SriLankan Airlines flight early this morning (15).
The SriLankan Airlines flight landed at both the Lahore and Karachchi airports to pick up the stranded Sri Lankans. The flight, UL1282, landed at the Bandaranike International Airport at around 4.40am today.
Both the plane's crew and the passengers were subjected to PCR tests upon arrival and they will be temporarily accommodated at four hotels close to the airport until the results of these tests come back.
