The suspect who was arrested for carrying a gun to a meeting attended by President Maithripala Sirisena was released on bail today by the Angunakolapelessa Magistrate. Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recently launched an investigation over the security breach that occurred at a SLFP meeting at Angunakolapelassa. Corporal Senaka Kumara, attached to the Commando Unit, was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on May 2 and produced before the Agunukolapelassa Magistrate.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
