Heavy traffic has been reported around Fort and Kollupitiya due to the closure of roads opposite Galle Face Green.
Police said that the road closure was due to Independence Day rehearsals that are currently underway.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
